Tomball’s identity was forged by the intersection of the Trinity and Brazos Valley Railroad and one of the most significant oil strikes in Texas history. The town's trajectory changed forever on May 27, 1933, when Humble Oil & Refining Co. struck a massive oil gusher. This discovery ushered in an era of unprecedented prosperity, leading to the "Historic Agreement" where the oil company provided free natural gas to residents for nearly 50 years.
